About the Spy Car
The History
The car visiting Major Mellors’ former home in 2023, the car was kept garaged here between 1946 and 1989. Many of the villagers remember Mellor driving the car around the village.
Major Mellor
The man and the car, here’s one of the only photographs of Major Mellor with the car when he sold it. The original car had been modified to add hidden compartments etc to aid Tony Mellor when operating undercover in Europe before the war.
The Car Today
The car now in the form of a 1935 Aston Martin Ulster, the car was modified in the 1980’s due to the poor condition of the previous body by the car previous owner who was unaware of the real reason for the car modifications uncovered during the refurbishment .
